South African-owned businesses including Shoprite and MTN have re-opened for business activities in Warri/Effurun and Asaba areas of Delta State, WARRI TODAY can report.
It was learnt that Shoprite shops in Effurun and Asaba started skeletal services on Friday.
This medium had reported closure of South African-owned businesses in the state following attacks on their businesses in some parts of the country over the xenophobic attacks on some Nigerians living in South Africa.
Our reporter learnt that MTN Office and Stanbic IBTC along Effurun/Warri road in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state near Warri, also opened for business activities on Friday.
WARRI TODAY observed that Shoprite and other South African businesses at the moment opened late and close earlier than the usual time, particularly for Shoprite.
The Shoprite in Effurun on Saturday opened at their usual 9am opening time amidst tight security.
Security personnel were sighted on both end of the entrances into the Delta Mall. Some others were also sighted patrolling the walkway inside the mall leading to other shops.
