The House of Representatives candidate for Warri Federal Constituency under the platform of the Social Democratic Party, Chief Monday Keme, says Warri, the nation’s hub for oil and gas will witness unprecedented development if elected in the next month’s election into the National Assembly.

Keme also promised to promote peace and unite the three ethnic nationalities in Warri – Itsekiri Ijaw and the Urhobo – so that the city would once again regain its lost glory in the area of security and infrastructural development in the country.

Speaking with journalists after he formally flagged off his campaign in Ogbe-Ijoh, administrative headquarters of Warri South West local government area of Delta State, the SDP candidate noted that he was confident that his party will win the Warri Federal Constituency seat.

The candidate, who was elated with large turnout of supporters and followers from the three council areas of Warri, said he would not fail the people of the area if elected as he would sponsor bills and motions that would have direct benefit on the lives of the people.

Keme said he remains the authentic candidate of the SDP for Warri Federal Constituency, adding that any other person parading himself as the candidate of the party is impersonating.

He urged the party leadership never to allow a politician who failed his party primary to hijack his position as he was returned and elected unopposed as the flag bearer of the party in the State SDP primaries for Warri Federal Constituency in Warri.

“I will give to the three ethnic nationalities projects that are due to them. I am going to be a unifying factor among the three ethnic nationalities. These exclude projects from intervention agencies like NDDC, MDGs and other primary responsibility are to develop specific areas of need in addition to federal government projects.

“A functional constituency office will be established in the heart of Warri and a number of liaison officers in remote areas within the constituency. A yearly constituency briefing on the activities of federal government in relation to the constituency”, Keme boasted.

He said Federal government neglected the oil bearing communities and his presence in the greem chambers would give him the opportunity to join others to sponsor bills and motions for the overall interest of the oil bearing communities in Niger Delta.

He noted that there is no federal project commissioned in Warri federal constituency in the past 20 years of democratic rule in Nigeria, despite having a representative at the National Assembly.

“The best we could get are some miserable projects from NDDC, mainly to siphon funds on one hand and on the other hand, NDDC projects meant for oil producing/impacted communities are sited in far away upland cities/towns, where our so called leaders have their mansions by depriving our people of their fair share of the national cake”, he said.

He urged the electorate to vote for the candidates of SDP in the forthcoming elections as the party would meet the yearnings of all Nigerians.
