The National Council of State which was attended by President Muhammadu Buhari, former presidents Goodluck Jonathan, Olusegun Obasanjo and Senate President Bukola Saraki, has pegged the National Minimum wage at N27, 000.
The Council, however, approved N30,000 for Federal Government workers.
The decision was reached at the Council’s meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.
The meeting was also attended by governors and former heads of state.
It said the least paid workers for states and the private sector is N27,000.
Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige, has just confirmed the development to State House Correspondents in Abuja.
With the outcome of the meeting, Ngige stated that a bill would be sent to the National Assembly latest on Wednesday (tomorrow) for approval.
