An All Progressives Congress’ (APC) pressure group, 4+4 (Four plus Four) Niger Delta Believer’s Council, has faulted the allegation of ant-party activities leveled against the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu during the recent visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to Delta State.
The group described the allegation as a propaganda and falsehood geared towards tarnishing the image of the Kachikwu for the selfish political gains of the sponsors of the cheap allegation against the minister.
In a statement signed by its National coordinator, Fred Magada, to counter the allegation, said if the falsehood is not checked it could be mistaken as true and real position of things.
Magada stated that the allegation is being sponsored by some leaders of the party from Delta State who are lobbying to take over from Kachikwu as minister.
It read, “Kachikwu has been one of the major backbones of the APC in Delta State and it is indeed preposterous and laughable that some overambitious party members in a bid to want to take over from him, would level such a roguish allegation against him.
“I wonder were these individuals were when Kachikwu was sponsoring the activities of the party for the past three years. As youth mobilizers of the APC, we would like these individuals to know that Delta State needs a minister in the class and person of Kachikwu for the next four years.
“We would also like to appeal to Mr. President and the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole to pay deaf ears to these individuals especially those who spoke at the last Monday APC town hall meeting because this is basically a ploy to discredit the minister for the benefit of their selfish ambitions.”
